Roast dates

The coffee we sell will have typically been rested for up to 3 weeks from its roast date. Once opened, enjoy while its still fresh!

From our experimentation, we have found that consuming coffee within 3-6 weeks of its roast date is optimal, for both ease of brewing and taste balance.

It is more important to use coffee as soon as possible following opening the seal of the coffee bag, to ensure you are getting maximum flavour from your brews.

Once opened, keep the bag sealed when not in use and, if your bag has an integrated one-way valve, squeeze out the remaining air from the bag when selaed to mimise the effects of oxidation.

About speciality coffee

All of the coffee beans you will find on our coffee store are classified as speciality coffee.

Speciality coffee is a term for the highest grade of coffee beans available and emphasises exceptional quality, unique flavors, and meticulous production methods.

It encompasses coffee beans that have been carefully sourced from specific regions, often single-origin, and have distinct characteristics based on factors like the coffee variety, growing conditions, altitude, and processing methods.

The term specialty also extends to the expertise of those who roast and brew the coffee, aiming to highlight the beans' inherent flavors rather than mask them.

Specialty coffee producers prioritise sustainability, transparency, and ethical practices, fostering relationships with coffee farmers and ensuring fair compensation. The result is a cup of coffee that delivers an intricate and delightful tasting experience, showcasing the intricate flavors and nuances that make each coffee origin and batch truly unique.
